Massey-Harris-Ferguson Collectors' Club

In 1997, collectors around the world gathered to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of Massey-Harris-Ferguson. Many of those who gathered at the various anniversary events wanted to see a continuation of the friendships and fellowship established during these exciting celebrations. It was decided to form a Canadian-based club, with a purpose of encouraging the preservation of the Massey legacy. Other tractors also of interest to our members are Wallis and Verity.

There is another site called "Friends of Ferguson Heritage" that you may wish to join. It includes Massey Harris and is located in the United Kingdom.

This site is in the U.S.A. and is the national Massey Collectors Association.

News from Country Heritage Agricultural Society

I have been amazed at the tremendous support and commitment the Park receives from all the tractor clubs and volunteers. As a result the Park continues to experience growth and improvements in the buildings, the displays and the grounds.

One of the least noticeable but significant improvement to a building is the new insulated door on the back of the Massey Harris building. I would like to personally thank the Twin Power Heritage Association, Massey-Harris-Ferguson Collectors and the individuals who took the lead in making this improvement to the building. As for additions to the collection the most significant one came from Arnold Rife who donated his Massey Ferguson 50 tractor. Thank you Arnold for donating this nicely restored tractor.

The Massey exhibit draws the attention of collectors from many parts of the world. In July a farm equipment dealer from Yorkshire England dropped in to specifically see the rare Ferguson tractor we have. This tractor apparently originated from a farm in Yorkshire and he wanted pictures to take back to a 90 year old customer who claims it came from his father's farm. Another person emailed me from England and I sent him a number of pictures of the two Massey-Harris Wallis tractors. He is writing an article on the Wallis tractors and told me that they are two of the best preserved examples of these tractors.

We also had visitors from Germany and Australia drop in to see the Massey exhibit.

One request I recently received. Who has information on Massey-Harris cook stove? A gentleman dropped by the Park and said he has such a stove and is in the process of restoring it. If you have any information I have his email address.

Around the park you will see a great deal of time has been spent on trimming around buildings, clearing brush and making the park an inviting place for families and school kids to come and learn about the importance of farming. Our focus continues to be on school programs. We have 12 curriculum based school programs available and offered to schools within an hour's drive of the Park. Tammy and her staff of 15 Historical Interpreters are targeting to reach 15,000 school kids from kindergarten to Grade 8. We do on occasion use the Massey building to talk about grain production and how it translates into the food you buy at the grocery store.

This year the All Colours Antique Tractor and Toy show will include the Olde Tyme Fair. The fair will be centered around the entrance and Pushlinch Hall and melt in with the Tractor and Toy Show. The 4 H clubs from the area will be involved in a number of ways. This is a great way to attract younger people.

Last year you will have noticed some modern tractors. We will be encouraging this again and hope that we will see something new from Massey, as well as John Deere, New Holland, Case IH and others. Our goal at Country Heritage Agricultural Society is to showcase farming, past, present and in the future. Thank you for all you support.
